The Parent Involvement in Special Education forum was held in February 2010. We learned what is happening in schools today around parent involvement. We learned the vision of parent involvement in special education. We learned the challenges to reach the vision.

Moultonborough Special Needs Alliance Committee (S.N.A.C.)
Towns: Moultonborough and surrounding towns
Mission: To provide support through communication and education to families, educators, and all who impact the lives of children with special needs.

Our Trail Parent Support Group
Towns: Thornton, Campton, Plymouth, Waterville Valley, Rumney, Holderness, Ellsworth, Wentworth
Mission: Networking and Support Group for Parents and Families of Children with Disabilities in Plymouth that meets each month on a Monday night at 6:30 at the Common Man in Plymouth with complimentary appetizers by Lakes Region Community Services - please RSVP so we have a headcount. Also call ahead to check for dates and location. The group partners with SAU 48 to bring workshops to the area for parents and educators
The group has also formed a Facebook Group which is a great place to find out about upcoming events and workshops, discussions, place to add photos, meet friends and more.

SAU 48 Parent Involvement Committee
Towns: Plymouth, Ellsworth, Campton, Thornton, Ellsworth, Rumney, Holderness, Waterville Valley, and Wentworth
Mission: To bring awareness and information to parents, families, educators, and community leaders in this area of the Lakes Region around disabilities and the special education process while increasing parent involvement which focuses on results of 2008-2009 Parent Involvement Survey.
2009 - 2010 Workshops are in collaboration with Plymouth Parent Support Group for Children with Special Needs, A+ Afterschool Program, PIC SE, Lakes Region Community Services- Family Support Council, and NH Connections

Spectrum 46 works in conjunction with SAU 46 Merrimack Valley School District's Parent Outreach
Towns: Merrimack Valley and Andover School Districts
Mission: to support families and educators of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in the Merrimack Valley and Andover School Districts by sponsoring presentations on issues relating to Autism Spectrum Disorders free of charge.
