Mission and Goals of NH Connections
NH Connections is funded by the New Hampshire Department of Education Bureau of Special Education, and is a project of the Parent Information Center.
NH Connections provides training and technical assistance on a regional and/or statewide basis regarding on parent involvement, parent/professional communication, strategies to create and maintain partnerships, parent leadership, and the creation and maintenance of partnerships with schools and parents of children with disabilities and their families.
Our Mission is to create a systemic and proactive plan for educating, training, and supporting schools/school districts and family members/community leaders, in conjunction with school districts to enhance strategies to effectively engage in partnerships.
Our goals are-:
To continue with our regional network model to support Bureau Special Education priorities, including the indicators on the Statewide Performance Plan with a specific focus on Indicator 8, Family Involvement.
Provide individual and group technical assistance for schools/school districts to support parent involvement in special education.
Identify resources and best practices that promote the development and/or enhance partnerships with schools and parents of children with disabilities and their families.
NH Connections will provide regional yearly forums for school administrators, teachers, parents and other professionals to identify successes and challenges in special education.
