National Center for Special Education Accountability Monitoring (NCSEAM) Parent Involvement Modules

The National Center for Special Education Accountability Monitoring (NCSEAM) has created a series of online modules to help schools implement research based parent involvement practices.

The modules were designed to help schools improve their performance on the Parent Involvement Indicator (B-8) of the state performance plan, but they are applicable for anyone working to increase effective parent involvement in schools, such as:

Parent mentors;
Parent and family engagement coordinators;
Directors and coordinators for Special Education, Early Childhood. Title I and School Improvement;
Principals;
Superintendents;
District officials;
Teachers.
The modules are a series of seven workshops that users can tailor to suit their school's needs:

Communication
Individualized Education Plan
Home School Note
Behavior Strategies
Reading Strategies
Math Strategies
Homework Strategies
In addition to the materials for the workshop, NCSEAM provides an online message board for sharing ideas, best practices and questions about the material.
